Remote Learning- Week 6
Update: This week would have been the start of the cricket season with the Year 3 & 4 Diamond Cricket events running at Appleton Cricket Club. With this in mind there is some information on the WASSP website regarding the Chance to Shine Programme and the associated resources that you can access for numeracy and literacy lessons as well as cricket lesson plans. Have a look and it may give you some ideas to engage your child at home. The information can be found here

Each week I will be putting activities on this page. There will be roughly 5 pieces of maths and English and 3 pieces of topic work. You also have your packs that were given out on the final day. Work your way through your pack as you like.
The White Rose Home Learning page has lots of videos and links to BBC Bitesize activities, there are lessons for each day of the week . This week, we are revisiting mathematical concepts that have already been covered in year 4.

This week, I have uploaded chapter 1 of an exciting book called 'Planet Earth' from the website we use at school Purple Mash. Below you will find the first chapter as a PDF, along with comprehension and SPaG questions for the children to complete. You are welcome to logon to Purple Mash and read as an e-book. I have set it as a 2do to make it easier to find.
Work through the activities at your own pace perhaps doing one a day.

I will be giving topic work relating to previous topic we have covered which will be useful at helping to cement the knowledge previously learnt!
Activity 1- History- Anglo-Saxons
Draw in some features and label all features of an Anglo-Saxon house.
Activity 2- Science- Looking at states of matter
You will be delving into evaporation more, discovering 'How do clothes dry?' and investigating 'Does the temperature affect how fast towels dry?' First go through the power point then use the 'Activity 2- Evaporation Investigation' sheet to plan out your investigation. Let me know what your conclusion was via email or seesaw.
Activity 3- Computing- E-Safety
Match the ten E-Safety tips to the ten pictures.
