English, Maths & Topic: Please choose 1 activity per day from each area..
Each week I will be putting activities on this page. There will be roughly 5 pieces of maths and English and 3 pieces of topic work. I will also put on reading comprehension activities too. The Lion Boy comprehension refers to the book. Unfortunately I have been unable to upload the text. Therefore there is some comprehension on Figurative language. You also have your packs that were given out on the final day. Work your way through your pack as you like.
In Maths we have been working on multiplication again. We have revised the grid method and then worked on the column method. There is a good tutorial on the following website:
https://www.khanacademy.org/math/. Please continue with TT Rockstars. Mathletics have also extended the trial period for another month until 23rd April. Please log in with your original log in details. Carol Vorderman is also doing online maths lessons: https://www.themathsfactor.com/.
On MyMaths there are several games and tasks I've set to work on and practices too.
In English we have been looking at Romeo and Juliet and discussing it as a playscript. The children can work through the playscript activities.Using the ISpy document read through it and pick out the features of a playscript using the playscript checklist doc. Colour coordinating is a good idea. Another good opportunity to work on this genre, is to look at a piece of prose and convert it into a playscript. Remember to keep working on the Y5/6 spellings. Don't allow that practice to go to waste!
Should you wish to contact me,I am available by email: firstname.lastname@example.org. I will endeavour to reply as soon as possible within working hours.
