Our current topic is...
Evolution & Inheritance
This is a science based topic, where we will be learning all about Evolution and Inheritance. Our topic will begin by watching a David Attenborough documentary 'The Tree of Life'.
We will be covering the following National Curriculum objectives:
Recognise that living things have changed over time and that fossils provide information about living things that inhabited the Earth millions of years ago.
Recognise that living things produce offspring of the same kind, but normally offspring vary and are not identical to their parents.
Identify how animals and plants are adapted to suit their environment in different ways and that adaptation may lead to evolution.
In English, we will be using the texts Darwin, An exceptional Voyage and On the Origin of the Species, to support our writing.
In maths, we will be completing our unit on the four operations and then moving onto Fractions and Geometry and position.
We will be reading one of my favourite book, Holes by Louis Sacher
