Our 2nd topic of the spring term is...
LIGHT
During this topic we will learn the following National Curriculum objectives:
Recognise that light appears to travel in straight lines.
To represent and report on findings.
To take accurate measurements.
To identify and manage variables in an investigation.
Explain that we see things because light travels from light sources to our eyes or from light sources to objects and then to our eyes.
Use the idea that light travels in straight lines to explain that objects are seen because they give out or reflect light into the eye.
Use the idea that light travels in straight lines to explain why shadows have the same shape as the objects that cast them.
We will continue with our English based book on Wolves and we will be writing a balanced argument about wolves. In maths last week we started our algebra topic, and we will be moving on to decimals next week. This is our final topic before half term and after Feb half term we will be starting to look at SAT's questions and getting some timing practise in.
PE days will remain the same, Monday and Wednesday and the competitions are starting to build now, so lots to look forward to.
We will finish reading Lonny Quicke and move on to our next - and my favourite text...
