How do we know so much about where Sappho used to live?
For the next 3 weeks, our topic is a History topic looking at the events that took place in Pompeii almost 2000 years ago.
Our learning objectives are:
- to recall events beyond living memory that are significant nationally or globally
We will look at the fresco painting of Sappho, and other artefacts that archaeologists have uncovered, to learn about what her life would have been like in Pompeii. We will also look at the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD79 and make our own fresco paintings.
In English we are reading 'The King Who Banned the Dark' by Emily Haworth-Booth. We will be writing a banning narrative based on the story.
We are reading 'Sam Wu is Not Afraid of the Dark' as our class book.
