Reading

This half term your child will be given their first reading book and diary. Please read your child's reading book with them every day for 10 minutes. A little often has a huge impact on children at this age. Children need to have their reading books and diaries in their bags everyday, so they can be ready to be read with.  We change children's reading books every Friday.

Maths

Our maths work this term will follow the First4Maths scheme of learning. In Reception, we will be looking at accurately counting amounts, subitising to 3 and numeral recognition. In 'Measurement, Shapes and Spatial Thinking', we will be exploring the properties of 2D shapes and simple AB patterns.

In Year 1, we will...

  • Count, read and write numbers to 100 in numerals; count in multiples of twos, fives and
