We are a friendly class of 19 children.
Wishing you a warm welcome to the Reception Class Homepage.
In Reception, we are taught by Miss Bloor, we are also supported by our lovely teaching assistants Mrs Richards.
I have been at High Legh for six years and I have moved from Year 4 back to Reception. I really enjoy teaching EYFS and I am very excited for this year. Outside of school, I can often be found in Scotland mountain biking, climbing or sailing.
I currently lead Geography and French.

This Half Term...
English
We will be starting our new writing unit based on the book 'The Something' by Rebecca Cobb. We will be writing labels, captions and attemping simple sentence about losing something.
Reading
This half term your child will be given their first reading book and diary. Please read your child's reading book with them every day for 10 minutes. A little often has a huge impact on children at this age. Children need to have their reading books and diaries in their bags everyday, so they can be ready to be read with. We change children's reading books every Friday.
Maths
Our maths work this term will follow the First4Maths scheme of learning. In number, we will be lookin at accurately counting amounts, subitising to 3 and numeral recognition. In 'Measurement, Shapes and Spatial Thinking', we will be exploring the properties of 2D shapes and simple AB patterns.
PE
Our P.E days are Tuesday and Thursday. On PE days, children will be expected to come to school in their PE kits.
