Topic 1

SUPERHEROES

image

Our new topic is Superheroes, where we’ll dive into the exciting world of powerful characters who use their unique abilities to help others and fight for good. Throughout this topic, children will explore what makes a superhero special, from their strengths and costumes to the amazing gadgets and vehicles they use. We'll be looking at different superhero stories, designing our own characters, and imagining the tools they need to save the day. By the end of the topic, each child will have created their very own superhero vehicle using junk model materials—combining creativity, problem-solving, and recycled resources to bring their superhero ideas to life!

Reading

Please read your child's reading book with them every day for 10 minutes. A little often has a huge impact on children at this age. Children need to have their reading books and diaries in their bags everyday, so they can be ready to be read with.  We change children's reading books every Friday.

Maths

In Reception, we follow the First4Maths scheme of work. This topic we will be comparing capacity, counting beyond 20 and doubling and halving.

PE

Our P.E days are Wednesday and Friday. Please ensure that children come to school in their P.E kit on these days. This half term, the children will be developing their ball and athletics skills.
